What's New for the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero? One new color called Sport Red is added to the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero's paint chart, and the six-speaker stereo is replaced by a four-speaker system. As the assembly line closes up shop over the summer, a final run of Collector's Edition models will be built with Dark Cherry Metallic paint, 16-inch alloy wheels and special badges.
Advantages of the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero:
- Comfortable front seats
- Decent acceleration with V6 engine
- Excellent warranty coverage
- Great bargains available as Oldsmobile closes up shop at the end of the year
Objections to the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero: - Poor expected resale value
- Uncomfortable rear seats
- Unrefined powertrains
Editor's Advice: The Alero is available in coupe or sedan form with four trim levels each. Although it was always a fundamentally decent vehicle with respectable performance, stylish sheetmetal and a generous standard features list, Oldsmobile is history after 2004, and so is the Alero. Despite big rebates and a free extended warranty, the Alero is distressed merchandise. Any GM dealer will be able to service the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero in the future, but its value is likely to plummet. Buy at your own risk.
