What's New for the 2006 Cadillac DTS?
The name "DeVille" is no more. For 2006, this large front-drive luxury sedan receives many improvements and has one of its old trim levels, DTS, appropriated as its new name. Though the change to DTS doesn't mark a true redesign, updates have been made in the important areas of interior design and feature content. Simpler and more elegant than before, the improved cabin of the 2006 Cadillac DTS is instantly apparent to those familiar with the DeVille. The front seats have been redesigned for improved comfort, the dash components fit together better and are of higher quality, and the control layout is easier to use and understand than before. There are also upgraded safety features like improved brakes, an updated stability control system, head-protecting side-curtain airbags and a dual-depth front passenger-side airbag. Most of the DTS's mechanical hardware is unchanged, though the front and rear crumple zones have been redesigned for a claimed improvement in crashworthiness. Tying up the improvements is a new exterior appearance, which includes updated styling front and rear, new HID headlights and larger multi-spoke wheels.
