The 2002 Mirage is a 2-door, 5-passenger family coupe, available in two trims, the DE and the LS. The 2002 Mirage's closest competitors include the Chevrolet Cavalier, the Hyundai Tiburon, and the Volkswagen New Beetle. Upon introduction, the DE is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter, I4, 92-horsepower engine that achieves 32-mpg in the city and 39-mpg on the highway. The LS is equipped with a standard 1.8-liter, I4, 111-horsepower engine that achieves 29-mpg in the city and 36-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2002 Mirage is a carryover from 2001.
