"Love this car, the way the car responds on the road is very smooth. It picks up very quickly when entering the freeway or passing a semi on a two lane highway. Has plenty of power. Stops on a dime, in fact brakes are more sensitive than any other car I have owned (84 and 99 Accord, 89 Camry). It does take a little getting used to to not over break in emergency situations.
As an owner my mpg in city with air on is 32 to 33
freeway 39 to 41. Bought it new April 2007. Gets 500 miles from a tank of gas on a trip. "

"Have owned since May 2006 and have 17,000 miles on it. So far it has been trouble-free and everything that Toyota promised. The hybrid system is seamless and mileage is running 35-42 mpg. For a car as large as last year's Avalon, that isn't bad at all. Car is loaded with safety features and emissions are nearly non-existant. Overall, excellent car. We have the loaded version with heated leather and nav system."

"Safety: a top consideration for us, and the Camry is up with the best on crash test results; the Hybrid adds standard Dynamic Vehicle Management (aka Electronic Stability Control). Check the IIHS Web site for details.
Mileage: we averaged about 37 mpg in mixed driving in moderate winter weather in Ohio. Then it got *really* cold (0 - 20 degrees typical) for several weeks, and mileage plunged to low 20's -- but that was mostly driving to work, 2 miles one way, so the car never really warmed up. The mileage is creeping up again as the weather improves.
Quiet: Amazing. You have to hear it (or not hear it) to believe it, especially in a 'family sedan.'
Fun: The display (the standard one, we don't have the fancy DVD one) is fascinating. Yes, we started changing driving habits to stay on battery power and otherwise doing eco-driving. You don't have to do so, of course -- but you probably will.
Cost: Really not bad, considering the standard features. The JBL stereo (standard) sounds great; the climate controls are nice, and so on.
Quality: Not quite up to the best, but we expect reliability to be very good. Only glitch so far was a malfunctioning seat belt assembly, repaired under warranty.
Driving feel: We compared it to a VW Passat -- sorry, no comparison. The VW is a real driver's car. The Camry, though, handles decently and certainly isn't a chore to drive."

"I don't know why other owners are getting poor gas mileage with their Camry Hybrid as I am getting a solid 38 mpg on the highway just like the window sticker estimated. I sometimes get up to 40 - 41 mpg on the first half of the tank but the entire tank will always average 38 mpg in the end. My driving includes, rush hour, hills, air conditioning on, radio on, etc. In fact I have not changed my driving habits at all on the highway and do the speed limit + 5 mph (75 mph). City mileage however is only 33 - 34 mpg but that's to be expected since it is virtually impossible to run on battery power. Especially when some Soccer Mom or Dad, in their gas guzzling Suburban/Tahoe/Navigator/Hummer is bearing down on your rear bumper after you turn on to the road. You are forced to accelerate to avoid being run over by an idiot driving a tank. The base model Camry comes well equipped with all the extras you usually have to pay for in other cars. The only upgrade options available are moonroof or leather or a GPS. The base model only needs floor mats to provide a stylish ride. This is a great Salesmans' car and makes good economical sense to buy. Your only fooling yourself if you think gas prices are not going to go up again."

"Take a close look at Camry hybrid!! We were very impressed with both the ride and the fuel economy. Seems like a good buy whem you consider tax credit and gas being over $3."
