Toyota’s got the hot new truck for 2007 – the redesigned Tundra. Tired of taking it on the chin for the Tundra’s shrink-wrapped size and wimpy six- and eight-cylinder engines, Toyota has endowed the all-new Tundra with what it promises will be big power from an available 5.7-liter V8 engine with variable valve timing and a ULEV emissions rating. Horsepower and torque figures have not been finalized, but Toyota says the 2007 Tundra will tow more than 10,000 pounds when properly equipped. Built in San Antonio, Texas, the 2007 Toyota Tundra may prove to be Chevrolet’s biggest competition when the new Silverado goes on sale later this year.
