Simplicity at its finest. The 2007 Nissan Sentra's climate control system consists of three dials – one for fan speed, one for temperature, and one for mode. The dials are big and durable, so we like them. Drawing less enthusiastic praise is the dials' placement, as they sit behind the shift knob. Placing the manual transmission shift knob in reverse (to the left of first gear) and you end up blocking the temperature and fan speed dials; move to first, third, or fifth gears and you limit access to the temperature and mode dials. The dials can all still be reached, but it requires a little work, work that wouldn't be necessary if the controls featured better placement.
